Shopmobility
The centre provides a comprehensive Shopmobility service. The Shopmobility office is located in the Podium car park on level 2.
Use of the Shopmobility service is not restricted to WestQuay, so you can explore the city centre during your visit.
We offer both membership and occasional use schemes:
• Easy hire of manual wheelchairs, powered wheelchairs and electric scooters.
• A shoppers escort can be arranged to push wheelchairs or guide visually impaired visitors, with prior arrangement.
• To pre-book these services, call us on 023 8063 6100 or if you prefer, email us at shopmobility@west-quay.co.uk. Please note that two forms of identification, one of which showing your name and address, will be required when registering.
Helping you get around
WestQuay is designed to be accessible and user friendly for all our visitors, no matter what their special needs may be. Shopmobility is open 7 days a week. For full opening times please phone 023 8063 6100.
To make your visit more enjoyable, WestQuay has the following:
• spacious, wide malls
• clear signs
• large electric doorways
• numerous lifts and escalators
• excellent toilet facilities for the disabled with alarm response systems
• low display counters and public telephones
• excellent ramp access
Parking pleasure
Dedicated spaces for Shopmobility users can be found on level 2 of the Podium car park and designated parking for European Blue Badge holders can be found on all other levels. Lifts in both the malls and the car parks are voice synthesised to announce doors opening and closing, and to tell you which level you are on.
A dedicated drop off point for oversized vehicles is located outside of Waterstone's on Lower Shopping Level, with drop kerbs allowing excellent access into the centre.
Visual and hearing impairments
For the hard of hearing, there are induction loops at the Information Desk and the Shopmobility office. Selected members of staff are trained in Sign language and will be happy to provide assistance.
