At Westquay we are working with Hammerson to reduce our environmental impact. 

  • Energy consumption
    Since installation in August 2016, the Westquay photovoltaic solar cells have generated enough electricity to power 5,548,608 cups of tea.

    Water consumption
    In 2018 we saved 37% more water than the previous year on our water consumption, equivalent to over four Olympic pools!

    In the past year, we now recycle 45% waste. The rest is used for energy generation – we send nothing to landfill

    Our key projects in 2019 include:
  • Increasing the amount of waste recycled through the installation of dining level recycling segregation bins
  • Installing more energy efficient LED lighting in the centre
  • Installation of a drinking water fountain to enable customers to fill their reusable bottles and reduce plastic waste
