Each year we select a local charity or two charities to be the recipient of our charity bursary. In addition to receiving a cash donation, we seek to maximise the charity partnership through providing mall space and opportunities for colleagues to engage and support in fundraising activities and events. Our charity bursary partner for 2021-2022 is The Rose Road Association. The Association works with children, adults and their families with complex, multiple disabilities and diverse health needs. The charity was started back in 1952 when a small group of parents identified the lack of services and education support for their disabled children and subsequently ran activities with a small group of young people to combat this. A purpose built day centre then opened in 1954 and local community fundraising played a key role in the Association's growth. The charity then gained further momentum to build its great success to support populations across Hampshire and its surrounding areas. Today, the Rose Roads Association provides services and support for over 400 children and young adults with severe physical disabilities, learning difficulties and autism. We look forward to working with the charity throughout the year to support their range of exciting fundraising events.
