A summer soundtrack for the city Southampton’s newest music festival is taking centre stage this July. Join us at Westquay Esplanade for TAPESTRY, a free, two-day festival packed with world-class music and vibrant local talent.
From local roots to global rhythms Taking place on 19–20 July, TAPESTRY celebrates movement, migration and musical storytelling with a genre-spanning lineup. Expect unforgettable performances from Sam Lee, Seckou Keita, Penguin Cafe, Kathryn Tickell & The Darkening and more.
No tickets, no barriers – just pure festival energy The Esplanade will come alive with exciting acts, tasty food stalls, and interactive family workshops — from African drumming and ceilidh dancing to percussion and movement sessions. Everyone’s welcome.
A city steeped in stories and sound As part of Southampton’s Jane Austen 250 celebrations, TAPESTRY reimagines the folk music she loved with a contemporary twist. Plus, catch highlights on BBC Radio 3’s Music Planet this August.
